ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Islamabad Police has received Net Launchers, a modern non-lethal tool, to safely arrest fleeing suspects during law and order situations.
According to the police spokesperson, the Net Launchers were provided by Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi as part of efforts to equip Islamabad Police with modern resources.
“To address law and order situations and for the arrest of suspects, modern Net Launchers have been provided to the Islamabad Police, which will assist in police operations during emergency situations,” the police said in a post on X.

The official said the equipment could be particularly useful in apprehending fleeing suspects and dealing with certain crowd-control and law and order situations where safe restraint was required.
The introduction of Net Launchers is part of efforts to provide ICT Police with modern equipment for safer and more effective policing in the federal capital.
The announcement came ahead of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) planned long march on Islamabad on September 27, demanding the release of former Prime Minister and its party founder Imran Khan.
