ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The Islamabad Traffic Police has made its driving licence process fully paperless, aiming to improve efficiency and enhance public convenience.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi formally inaugurated the system on Sunday and reviewed the newly established digital counters, issuing directions for their implementation.
According to the IG, the initiative has been introduced to save citizens’ time and simplify the process. He noted that applicants were previously required to submit multiple documents, including medical forms and photographs.
Under the new system, citizens are no longer required to bring any documents, photocopies, or photographs. From medical assessment to licence issuance, the entire process has been digitised.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Muhammad Sarfaraz Virk said that the entire process from filling the medical form to receiving the license has now become computerized and paperless.
Special separate counters have been allocated for women and senior citizens in the service centers.
On the occasion of the inauguration ceremony, IG Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi inspected all the counters and paid tribute to the traffic police team for completing this project in a short time.
He announced that the license fee payment system will also be completely digitalized very soon.
Chief Traffic Officer chaired an important meeting with the in-charges of all service centers, in which he issued instructions to ensure 100 percent implementation of this paperless system and to treat citizens with utmost civility and ethics so as to promote the positive image of the police.

“Citizens no longer need to bring any documents. Citizens should just bring their original ID card and obtain the license. The license fee system will also be digitized soon,” Virk said.
“Complaint cells have also been established in every service center. If any citizen has a complaint regarding licensing, they can register it in the register.”
Those citizens who have obtained learner permits for professional licenses should obtain their licenses within the stipulated time, the Chief Traffic Officer added.
