MUMBAI (Kashmir English): Australian cricket team’s young all-rounder Cameron Green has become the most expensive foreign player in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Kolkata Knight Riders bought Cameron Green in the player IPL 2026 auction.

There was a fierce competition between the Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders to make Cameron Green a part of their team.

However, Kolkata made Green a part of their team for 252 million Indian rupees. With this, Cameron Green has become the most expensive foreign player in the history of the IPL.

Earlier, the title of the most expensive foreign player in the history of the IPL was held by Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc, who was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for 247.5 million Indian rupees for the 2024 season.

Cameron Green has previously represented the Mumbai Indians and the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL.

It should be noted that the title of the most expensive player in the history of the IPL is held by the Indian cricket team’s wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant, who was bought by the Lucknow Supergiants for 27 crore Indian rupees last season.

The next season of the IPL will be played from March 26 to May 31.
