MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): To address the concerns of students, the Azad Kashmir government has ordered a formal investigation into the BISE Mirpur Intermediate results.
The Azad Jammu and Kashmir Education Department has formed a five-member committee to investigate the irregularities in the BISE Mirpur Intermediate results.
According to the notification issued by the department stated that the committee has been formed on the complaints of students and their parents regarding errors and anomalies in the recently published examination results.
The Azad Jammu and Kashmir government has hence ordered a formal inquiry into the transparency and precision of the marking and result-compilation processes.
The committee will formally investigate the discrepancies in the issued results and will also recommend solutions to avoid such a situation in the future.
This development comes after the students held wide protests against the irregularities in the results.
Earlier, the Mirpur Board of Education formally announced re-evaluation of the E-marking process in key subjects.
According to the spokesperson, the board decided to re-evaluate the E-Marking process in important subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English, and Computer Science. In this regard, re-checking of marked answer copies will be done to ensure transparency and quality.
Additionally, a formal notification was sent to the Secretary of Higher Education, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, for this purpose, under which it has been recommended to constitute a high-level committee comprising educationists from the three divisions of Muzaffarabad, Mirpur, and Rawalakot, according to Controller of Examinations Professor Masood Chaudhry.
Moreover, an experienced and qualified professor for each subject will be part of the committee, which will conduct a detailed analysis of the quality, transparency, and efficiency of E-Marking, he stated.
The committee will review all the issues and make its recommendations, and submit a comprehensive report within a week.
