ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): President Asif Ali Zardari has announced the Pakistan Civil Awards for national and foreign individuals who have performed distinguished services in various fields.
In the list issued by the Presidency, the approval has been granted to confer awards upon 355 individuals associated with various sectors including politics, public service, diplomacy, and showbiz.
The approval has been granted to confer the Nishan-i-Imtiaz upon Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
Federal Ministers Muhammad Aurangzeb, Ahad Cheema, and Bilal Azhar Kayani will also be honoured with civil awards, while Finance Secretary Imdad Ullah Bosal, Attorney General Mansoor Usman Awan, and Chairman FBR Rashid Mahmood Langrial are also among the recipients.
Among international personalities, the approval has been granted to award the Sitara-i-Imtiaz to Türkiye’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, while the Defence Minister and Commerce Minister of Türkiye will also be given civil awards.
The approval to confer a civil award upon the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation has also been granted.
Showbiz
Several awards have also been announced for personalities associated with showbiz and arts, actress Nisho Begum, singer Tarannum Naz, and stage actor Iftikhar Thakur will be awarded the Sitara-i-Imtiaz, while Sufi opera singer Saira Peter will also be given the Sitara-i-Imtiaz.
Approval has been granted to confer the President’s Award for Pride of Performance upon actress Maria Wasti, Sania Saeed, and actor Mahmood Aslam.
Singer Gulshan Ara Syed and Pappu Samrat will also receive the President’s Award for Pride of Performance; actor and host Noor-ul-Hassan and singer Shehzad Roy will be awarded the Tamgha-i-Imtiaz.
Journalism
In the field of journalism, 11 individuals have been nominated for civil awards. Sitara-i-Imtiaz has been recommended for Muhammad Saleh Zaafir and Haji Nawaz Raza, while the President’s Award for Pride of Performance has been recommended for Syed Hamid Ghaznavi and photographer Muhammad Amir Khan.
Similarly, Tamgha-i-Imtiaz has been recommended for other journalists and anchors, including Muhammad Riaz Khan, Shoaib Ahmed, Ammar Masood, Dr. Maria Zulfiqar, Adil Shahzeb, Hammad Hassan, and Tasawar Arafat.
Science
Awards have been recommended for six individuals in the field of science. Hilal-i-Imtiaz for Dr. Shahid Mahmood, while Sitara-i-Imtiaz has been proposed for Professor Dr. Syed Zafar Ilyas and Professor Dr. Mudassir Asrar. Tamgha-i-Imtiaz has been recommended for Dr. Sajjad Hussain, Professor Dr. Aneela Zameer Jaffery, and Dr. Urooj Saeed.
Engineering
In the field of engineering, Tamgha-i-Imtiaz has been proposed for only two individuals, Dr. Muhammad Sadiq and Professor Dr. Naeem-ul-Haque Tariq.
Education
The names of 21 individuals are included in the education sector. Hilal-i-Imtiaz for Lieutenant General Retired Moazzam Ejaz, while Sitara-i-Imtiaz has been recommended for Professor Dr. Muhammad Raza Shah, Professor Dr. Khalid Masood Gondal, Dr. Rashid Amjad, and Dr. Zafar Iqbal Qadir.
Tamgha-i-Imtiaz has been proposed for 16 other individuals, including Vice Chancellors of various universities, teachers, researchers, and educationists.
Medicine
Ten individuals have been nominated for civil awards in the medical field. Hilal-i-Imtiaz for Professor Faisal Saud Dar, while Sitara-i-Imtiaz has been proposed for the late Professor Dr. Tahir Shamsi, Professor Dr. Syed Jamal Raza, the late Dr. Naseem Salahuddin, Dr. Shah Khalid, and Professor Dr. Muhammad Khurram.
Tamgha-i-Imtiaz has been recommended for Dr. Naeem Taj, Dr. Abdul Wasee, Dr. Muhammad Sharif Hashmani, and Dr. Maaz-ul-Hassan.
Arts
As many as 53 individuals are included in the field of arts. Hilal-i-Imtiaz for producer Sultana Siddiqui, while Sitara-i-Imtiaz has been proposed for actress Nisho Begum, comedian Iftikhar Ahmed Thakur, Naat Khawan Syed Fasihuddin Soharwardi, along with several singers and artists.
Tamgha-i-Imtiaz has also been recommended for actors, singers, painters, musicians, calligraphers, artisans, and other artists in the field of arts.
Literature
Awards have been recommended for 29 individuals in the literary field. Nishan-i-Imtiaz for Asad Muhammad Khan, Hilal-i-Imtiaz for Ijaz Rahim and Muhammad Khurshid-ul-Hassan Rizvi, while Sitara-i-Imtiaz and Tamgha-i-Imtiaz have been proposed for several poets, writers, researchers, and novelists.
Sports
The names of 9 individuals are included in the field of sports. Sitara-i-Imtiaz for boxing coach Atta Muhammad Kakar and martial arts and yoga expert Dr. Waseem A. Tariq, while Tamgha-i-Imtiaz has been proposed for other athletes, including shooter Kishmala Talat, squash player Noor Zaman, boxer Muhammad Waseem, and cricketer Sadiq Mohammad.It is.
