MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The New York Times has reported that India is allegedly preparing a case for Indian military action against Pakistan. Following the recent Pahalgam incident, the Indian government reportedly summoned diplomats from around 100 foreign missions to its Ministry of External Affairs for a detailed briefing.

According to the report, Indian officials shared limited information regarding the ongoing investigation into the Pahalgam attack, including some facial recognition data and technical intelligence. However, analysts and diplomats noted that India failed to present any strong evidence linking the incident to Pakistan during the briefing.

The American newspaper highlighted that the lack of concrete evidence at this stage points to two possibilities: either India needs more time to gather necessary information, or it is proceeding without solid proof. Four diplomats familiar with the briefings told the New York Times that New Delhi appears to be preparing a justification for Indian military action against Pakistan.

Meanwhile, Indian media outlets have claimed that India plans to target specific locations inside Pakistan. During a private news channel’s programme, sources revealed that Pakistan is prepared to not only thwart any Indian military action but also to retaliate by striking hundreds of targets across the border within minutes.

Sources further clarified that the recent tensions did not originate from Pakistan, and no evidence has surfaced linking the Pakistani state or any non-state actor to the Pahalgam incident. Despite this absence of facts the potential for Indian military intervention remains a major threat to regional peace.

Experts believe that further escalation between Pakistan and India breeds dangerous outcomes since these countries possess nuclear weapons capabilities. Global observers stay vigilant about developments as both nations continue to receive diplomatic pressure urging peaceful relations.

The lack of definitive evidence has made global institutions hesitate to validate India’s statements. Military intervention by Indian forces at this moment will likely face worldwide criticism unless the international community views its rationale as legitimate.

As tensions persist, both Pakistan and India face mounting pressure to avoid confrontation and instead resolve their differences through diplomatic channels. The world now watches closely to see whether the situation will be defused or further inflamed by potential Indian military action.
