NEW DELHI (Kashmir English): An Indian man has entered the Guinness World Records after gathering 858 paper cups featuring different designs.

Sunil Joseph, 57, has a lifelong passion for collecting objects like postage stamps, coins and matchbox stickers.

According to Joseph, his interest in collecting began in childhood with postage stamps, coins and matchbox stickers.

He told the Guinness World Records that the curiosity of his early years later turned into a lifelong passion, after which he began collecting a wide range of items, from razor blade wrappers and airline boarding passes to coffee mugs and tea bags.

Joseph earned his first Guinness World Record in 2014 after collecting 5,986 phone cards.

Guinness World Records is the world authority on record-breaking achievements, tracking human superlatives and natural extremes.

The reference book was originally created by Sir Hugh Beaver to settle pub disputes. It was first published in August 1955 by twin brothers Norris and Ross McWhirter.

Today, it has evolved from a bestselling book franchise into a massive international multimedia brand spanning television shows, live events, digital media, and museums across global offices in London, New York, Beijing, Tokyo, and Dubai.
