ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Information Minister Attaullah Tarar has said that India is planning military action against Pakistan within the next 24 to 36 hours, citing credible intelligence reports.

He said the reports suggest that India would be using the recent Pahalgam attack in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) as a pretext.

India is basing on “baseless” accusations

In a video statement posted late Tuesday, Tarar said that India is basing its alleged plans on “baseless and self-fabricated accusations” related to the Pahalgam incident, in which 26 people were killed.

“There is verified intelligence indicating that India intends to carry out a military operation against Pakistan. India is using the Pahalgam incident as justification for aggression,” the minister said.

He warned that any form of aggression by India would be met with a decisive and strong response. “Pakistan will hold India fully responsible for the potentially disastrous consequences in the region,” he added.

Tarar dismissed New Delhi’s self-imposed role as “plaintiff, judge, and executioner” in regional matters.

He reiterated that Pakistan has been a victim of terrorism for over two decades and condemned terrorism in all its forms globally.

He further said that Pakistan had acted as a responsible state following the Pahalgam incident by offering an independent and neutral investigation to uncover the facts and motives behind the attack. “Unfortunately, India chose the path of irrationality and confrontation,” the minister remarked.

Pakistani minister further asserted that India’s refusal to accept an impartial investigation exposes its underlying motives. “Using such attacks to pursue political objectives is both unfortunate and condemnable,” he said.

The minister again reaffirmed Pakistan’s stance and concluded by saying that any military adventurism from India will receive a certain and decisive response.

He urged international community to recognise that responsibility for any catastrophic escalation will rest solely with India and added the people of Pakistan will defend their sovereignty and territorial integrity at all costs.
