ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Pakistan’s incarcerated former prime minister Imran Khan has been mentioned in the recently released Epstein emails.

The “Epstein list” refers to a document that reportedly includes the names of prominent individuals linked to Jeffrey Epstein, the American financier and convicted sex offender. It forms part of a larger collection of material known as the Epstein files.

Epstein was arrested in July 2019 on federal charges for trafficking underage girls to his properties in New York and Palm Beach between 2002 and 2005. He was later found dead in his Manhattan jail cell on August 10, 2019, with investigators ruling his death a suicide.

Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi has released the “first phase” of declassified records, which include flight logs, an evidence list, and a redacted contact list. She said more documents would be made public after removing the names of the victims.

References to Imran Khan appear in connection with Ghislaine Maxwell, who prosecutors said played a central role in Epstein’s exploitation of underage girls for more than a decade, according to a post on an ‘X’ account.

These mentions are now among the documents reviewed by the US House Oversight Committee.

Email exchanges show Epstein discussing various individuals he was assessing and their alleged vulnerabilities. In one email, he claimed to know Jemima and suggested Imran Khan had forced her to convert, a claim presented as part of his correspondence.

It is pertinent to mention that in a podcast, Wasim Akram mentioned travelling on a private plane to an island during a West Indies tour. That account is now being linked with other material to suggest Imran may have visited Epstein’s island.

Several important personalities and politicians have been named in the files, including US President Donald Trump and King Charles’s brother Andrew.
