MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Chaudhry Anwarul Haq has said that improving the faculty structure will lead to improved quality in medical colleges in Azad Kashmir.
He made these remarks during a meeting of the Governing Body of Medical Colleges of AJK, held under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister Anwarul Haq.
The meeting was attended by key officials, including Minister for Health Nisar Ansar Abdali, Minister for Communication and Works Chaudhry Azhar Sadiq, Chief Secretary Azad Kashmir Khushal Khan, and Secretary Finance Islam Zeb.
The Vice Chancellor of the University of Health Sciences (UHS) Lahore also participated in the meeting through video link.
As per details, a detailed briefing was given to the Prime Minister on the recruitment policy and financial policy of the medical colleges of Azad Kashmir.
The meeting discussed several important issues, including the procedure for appointments of professors and associate professors for medical colleges, along with issues related to extensions in tenure.
The meeting also discussed faculty requirements and recruitment policy for nursing colleges.
Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Anwarul Haq said that there is no escape from the law, and the recruitment procedure in medical colleges should be strictly in accordance with the law.
“If the medical colleges are in good condition, the pressure on the public health sector will be reduced,” he added. Futhermore, the premier said that there is no inevitability for the system, and medical colleges are doing a good job.
The three medical colleges of Azad Kashmir are the capital of the future, and the government has taken steps to make them stand on their own feet, he stated.
