ICC releases new rankings: Pakistan players make significant gains

DUBAI (Kashmir English): The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released its latest player rankings across all three formats, with several Pakistani players making significant gains. Notably, Shaheen Afridi, Saud Shakeel, Haris Rauf, and Sahibzada Farhan have improved their rankings.

As per the latest rankings, India’s Rohit Sharma continues to lead the ODI batting chart, while Virat Kohli has climbed two spots to secure second position. Pakistan’s Babar Azam retains his sixth place.

In the ODI bowling rankings, Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan remains at the top. Pakistan’s Abrar Ahmed stays firm at 9th, while Shaheen Afridi improved by two places to reach 19th, and Haris Rauf moved up one spot to 22nd.

Furthermore, Pakistan’s opener Sahibzada Farhan has climbed one spot to fifth place in the T20 batting rankings. In bowling, Abrar Ahmed retains his fourth position, while Saim Ayub remains the top-ranked all-rounder in T20 cricket.

Among Test bowlers, Australia’s Mitchell Starc has moved to a career-best third position, while India’s Jasprit Bumrah is ranked first, followed by New Zealand’s Matt Henry. Pakistan’s spinner Noman Ali has moved to fourth.

In the Test batting ranking, England’s Joe Root is ranked first, New Zealand’s Kane Williamson second, Australia’s Steve Smith third, and England’s Harry Brook fourth. Pakistan’s Saud Shakeel has broken into the top 10, moving up one spot. New Zealand’s Rachin Ravindra, with a nine-place jump, is now ranked 15th.

In the Test all-rounder list, India’s Ravindra Jadeja leads, followed by South Africa’s Marco Jansen and England’s Ben Stokes.
