DUBAI (Kashmir English): The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday announced the final distribution of prize money to every team that played in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, days after India secured the world championship title defeating New Zealand in the grand finale in Ahmedabad.
According to the press release, a total of $11.25 million in prize money will be distributed among the 20 teams, with the co-hosts and World Cup title winner India getting $2,639,423.
“The total reflects the base amount of $225,000 received by all participating teams, along with bonuses based on final placements, win bonuses, and progression through each stage of the tournament,” the ICC stated.
Moreover, New Zealand, which finished as runners-up in the tournament, received the second-largest share, $1,422,692.
Semi-finalists South Africa earned $1,005,577, while the fourth semi-finalists, England, who came close to defeating India in the semi-finals, earned $974,423 for their efforts.

Furthermore, Pakistan received $522,692, while the West Indies earned $538,269 for their Super 8 finish.
“Zimbabwe’s stellar performance, during which they stunned Australia, saw them take home a healthy purse of $491,538. The remaining Super 8 team, tournament co-hosts Sri Lanka, earned $475,962,” the ICC said in a statement.
The USA ended with $309,808 for an impressive performance in the group stage with two wins in the World Cup. Australia and Afghanistan, who failed to qualify for the Super 8s, also secured the same amount.
Scotland and Ireland, who secured one win in the tournament, get $278,654 and $271,731, respectively.
On the other hand, Italy secured its first-ever ICC Men’s T20 World Cup win against Nepal in Mumbai, earning them $256,154. The same amount was received by the Netherlands, the UAE, and Nepal.
“Canada, Namibia, and Oman each took the base payment of US$225,000,” the ICC said.
