SOUTH WAZIRISTAN (Kashmir English): The Pakistan Army successfully foiled a terrorist attack on Wana Cadet College, located in South Waziristan, last night on Tuesday.
In a recent video, the SSG Commander, Colonel Muhammad Tahir Shah, who was also leading the clearance operation himself, provided detailed insights into how the operation unfolded.
According to Colonel Tahir, who was also leading the operation, told that on November 10, five Afghan Khawarij entered the jurisdiction of Wana Cadet College, attempting to take students hostage and breach the campus.
“One suicide bomber detonated explosives at the gate of the cadet college, while the other four tried to enter the campus; they aimed to take the students hostage.
”However, due to Pakistan’s Army’s timely action, we moved all the students to a safe place and were able to confine the terrorists to a specific block and neutralized all of them between 10 and 10:30 pm, last night” he further added.
Field Marshal Closely Monitored the Operation
While praising Field Marshal Asim Munir’s quick and prompt actions, the SSG commando said that Field Marshal Asim Munir closely monitored the operation from start to finish, emphasizing that “these builders of the nation are our capital, no harm should come to them at all.”
Connel Tahir Shah also stated that Pakistan Army personnel stood as a protective shield between the cadets and the terrorists for over 24 hours, ensuring the safety of all students and staff.
Wana Cadet College is a gift from the Pakistan Army to the people of South Waziristan, he further added.

Students’ Strong Message for Terrorists
Cadets recalled that the attack occurred while they were preparing for a drill competition, when a blast occurred, we quickly realised that this was an attack from the enemies of education.
They thanked the Pakistan Army for its quick actions and for rescuing all the students, staff members inside the Wana Cadet College.
The students also gave a strong message to the terrorists, stating that “The enemies of education wanted to stop us, but the Army safely shifted us to a secure location,” one cadet said. Teachers also guided students to remain calm, assuring them of the Army’s presence.
The courage of the cadets and teachers, combined with the decisive response of Field Marshal Asim Munir, Colonel Tahir, and the Pakistan Army, ensured that the terrorist plot was completely foiled. “Whatever the enemies of education do, they cannot stop us from learning,” a cadet added.
In conclusion, Connel Tahir Shah added that Alhamdulillah, the timely intervention of the Pakistan Army turned a potential tragedy into a powerful demonstration of resilience and national spirit.
