ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): In a major relief for students and graduates, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) has introduced a fully online and paperless Degree Attestation System (DAS).

In a post on X on Monday, Chairman HEC Niaz Ahmad Akhtar said that under the new system, applicants will no longer be required to physically visit HEC offices or submit original documents.

He added that applications for online attestation can now be submitted 24/7 through the HEC e-Services Portal. The upgraded online system will become effective from May 11, 2026.

“The new e-Attestation Certificate system is designed to provide a secure, efficient, and user-friendly process, with online verification available for attested documents and certificates,” he wrote.

On its website, the HEC wrote that applications can be submitted through the online portal at www.eservices.hec.gov.pk.

To obtain an HEC e-Attestation Certificate, applicants will submit an online application. Later, the HEC will do a scrutiny of the application and verification of academic documents by the respective university.

How to submit an online application

At first, applicants must create an account at www.eservices.hec.gov.pk and are required to select the “Degree Attestation” option.

They are required to enter personal information, including name, father’s name, date of birth, marital status, gender, and address, etc.

Later, applicants will provide complete academic information from the Secondary School Certificate to their final degree.

After that, the following document types will be available for attestation under this section:
i. Degree
ii. Transcript (Result Card/Result Intimation Card/Detailed Marks Certificate)
iii. Provisional Certificate (only those issued by the university’s examination office)
iv. HEC Equivalence Letter

The candidates will then upload the transcripts online for scrutiny by the HEC and verification of credentials by the respective universities.

The system automatically calculates the fee based on the selected documents. Applicants are advised to select only those degree programs and documents that are required and readily available for attestation.

Then, applicants will complete the payment online through 1-link. The attestation fee is Rs. 3,000 per document (degree, transcript, provisional certificate, or HEC equivalence letter), the HEC wrote.

After a final review by HEC, an e-attestation certificate will be issued against the documents applied for attestation. Applicants will be notified via SMS and email.

The applicants can also download the verifiable certificate from their online account at the HEC Portal.
