ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The severe cold wave continues in Pakistan, and according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a new system bringing rain from the west will enter the country tomorrow.

The effects of this system are expected to be mostly limited to Murree, Galiyat, and upper Punjab, while the possibility of rain is less in the plains.

Meteorologists said that the presence of clouds and continuous fog has further increased the intensity of the cold, due to which the citizens are facing severe cold weather. The effects of the cold weather will be felt especially in the upper areas, where light snowfall is also expected in some places.

Citizens have been advised to avoid unnecessary outings in the cold weather, especially the elderly and children, as severe cold and fog can cause health problems.

The Meteorological Department further said that the chances of rain in the plains are limited; however, cold and fog will continue, due to which those traveling on highways and motorways have been advised to exercise caution.
