HATTIAN BALA (Kashmir English): Naib Tehsildar Ayaz Chughtai, acting on instructions from Deputy Commissioner Syed Ashfaq Gilani, seized a truck carrying substandard and harmful children’s food in Hattian Bala Bazaar in order to prevent health hazards and initiate legal action against the perpetrators.
In a major crackdown against unsafe food, the district administration of Jhelum Valley Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) seized a large consignment of substandard and potentially harmful food products intended for children. Naib Tehsildar Ayaz Chughtai executed orders from Deputy Commissioner Syed Ashfaq Gilani by conducting the operation in Hattian Bala Bazaar that resulted in seizing the unsafe food items from a truck.
The authorities seized a variety of low-quality local products consisting of juices, crisps slanties and various spices which originated from Muzaffarabad. The unsafe products contained in the truck created various health dangers for children that could develop into stomach complaints along with liver dysfunction kidney problems and hepatitis. Due to identified health risks authorities reacted right away by stopping the items from reaching the market.
The authorities seized all goods together with capturing both the truck driver and others responsible for the product distribution. The administration began legal actions while requesting the authorities to register First Information Reports against the involved individuals. Authorities will eliminate the confiscated items to stop any potential damage to public health before disposal.
