Hajj flights to resume according to schedule following ceasefire

ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): According to the Ministry of Religious Affairs spokesperson, Hajj flights from Pakistan will now leave for Saudi Arabia according to the schedule as  Pakistan’s airspace has been fully restored for  to all types of flights.

The spokesperson confirmed in a statement released on Saturday that ten Hajj flights were canceled as a result of sporadic flight operations suspensions.

Among the canceled flights two were from Islamabad, three from Lahore, and one each from Karachi and Multan. Consequently, 2,290 pilgrims’ travel plans were thrown off amid the cross border tensions.

According to the ministry spokesperson, 1,277 impacted pilgrims have already been transported to Saudi Arabia on special flights, and the remaining 1,013 will soon be transported out on additional special flights.
