ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has announced the new winter timings for all government-run schools and colleges in Islamabad
This new winter timings for Islamabad’s schools will be applicable from December 1, 2025, to January 31, 2026.
As per the official notification, all institutions working under the FDE, including Islamabad Model Schools and Colleges in urban and rural areas, will follow revised schedules during winter.
Classes in single-shift schools will continue from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm on Monday to Thursday, while on Fridays, they will be from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm.
The timing for the Montessori and Prep classes shall be from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm throughout the week.
morning shifts from 8:15 am -1:15 pm, Monday to Thursday, and 8:15 am – 12:15 pm on Fridays; evening shifts starting at 1:15 pm up to 6:00 pm, Monday through Thursday, and Friday, between 2:30 pm and 6:00 pm.
Postgraduate colleges may continue classes starting from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. or 4:00 p.m., based on individual academic requirements.
The notification calls for strict compliance and timely implementation by the Area Education Officers in all FDE institutions.
The revised timings have been issued with the approval of Director General FDE and aimed at facilitating the students and staff as the mercury in the federal capital continues to fall.
