ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The federal government has decreased diesel and petrol prices across the country for the next fortnight, effective from Thursday, January 01, 2026.
According to the Ministry of Finance notification, the price of petrol per liter has decreased by Rs 10.28 per litre, and diesel has decreased by Rs 8.57 per liter.
As per the notification, the new price of petrol per liter is Rs 253.17, while the price of diesel will be Rs 257.8 per liter.
On December 16, the government kept the petrol price unchanged at Rs 263.45 per liter and decreased diesel by Rs 14 per liter. Under the revised prices, the new rate of high-speed diesel was fixed at Rs265.65 per litre.
The Petroleum Division stated that the changes will take effect at midnight and remain in effect for the next fortnight.
