ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): A significant raise of 24.14% in the quarterly cash support package for the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) scheme has been formally sanctioned by the federal government, taking the cash allowance from Rs. 14,000 to Rs. 18,000.
This new arrangement will become operational from January 2027. The upgrade is a component of a wider series of social protection measures intended to assist poor families in adapting to continuous inflation and increased cost of living.
It has been confirmed that documentation relating to the rise has been provided to the IMF as part of Pakistan’s efforts towards economic stabilization.

Who is Eligible?

Eligibility is calculated via the National Socio-Economic Registry (NSER) survey. Eligible groups include:
  • Low-income families living near or below the poverty line.
  • Women with valid CNICs, widows, divorced women, and single mothers.
  • Families supporting disabled members, elderly dependents, or orphans.
  • Ever-married women (18+) and never-married women (40+).
  • Transgender individuals (18+) holding a valid CNIC.

How to Check Status and Register

Beneficiaries can verify their eligibility or payment status using two primary digital channels:
  • SMS Verification: Send your 13-digit CNIC number to 8171.
  • Web Portal: Visit the official tracking site at 8171.bisp.gov.pk.
New registrations cannot be completed entirely online. The family must go to its nearest Tehsil-based digital BISP Registration Center for NSER Dynamic Survey. The applicant has to produce his CNIC, submit welfare certificates, and undergo biometric verification using the NADRA system.
