KARACHI (Kashmir English): Gold prices in Pakistan maintained their positive trend on Thursday as the precious metal reached a new record high in the domestic and international markets.
The price of 24-karat gold per tola increased by an enormous Rs1,900 to Rs442,800 in the domestic market, as per the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA).
The price for 10 grams of 24-karat gold was Rs379,629, an upsurge of Rs1,629, and 10 grams of 22-karat gold rose to Rs348,005, an increase of Rs1,493.
Global gold prices on the rise
In the world market, gold prices have gone up by $19, trading at $4,217 an ounce. Global prices rose due to increased investors’ appetite against the background of economic instability and volatility in currencies.

Market experts opined that the strengthening US dollar and changing interest rate expectations have encouraged investors to rush towards safe-haven assets such as gold.
Prices of silver stable
Prices of silver, however, did not undergo any change. The price of 24-karat silver per tola stayed at Rs5,337, whereas 10 grams of silver were on sale at Rs4,575.
