MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Special Communication Organization (SCO) has established Freelancing Hubs in Nakyal and Khuiratta Tehsil of Kotli District and Afzal Pur in Mirpur District.
As per details, the freelance facilities were inaugurated under the SCO Vision 2025, which aims to establish one hundred IT centers in Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan within two years.
The Freelancing Hub in Nakyal and Khuiratta has been established as the 61st IT centre in Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan in just sixteen months, the SCO press release said.
Under SCO Vision 2025, the freelancing hub in Afzalpur, Mirupur, is the 62nd IT center to be set up in 16 months.
These facilities in Kotli and Mirpur districts will empower the youth with Information Technology (IT) and digital skills. “This state-of-the-art freelancing hub will create new employment opportunities for local youth,” it read.
Moreover, the SCO in a press release said, “This initiative will not only help reduce unemployment but also provide the youth of Azad Kashmir an opportunity to play an effective role in the digital economy.”
The Freelancing Hubs in these areas will serve as a digital excellence center where young individuals will gain training in various fields like graphic design, digital marketing, content creation, and e-commerce.
“Equipped with high-speed internet and state-of-the-art facilities, this hub is set to transform local youth’s skills into sustainable income sources, so that they can become self-sufficient with their skills.”
