Food Authority seizes 200 liters of substandard milk at Mangla Entry Point

MIRPUR (Kashmir English): In Mirpur district, the Food Authority team carried out a major operation under the supervision of District Food Controller Mirpur Syed Adnan Ali Naqvi on the directions of the Supreme Court of Azad Kashmir.

Assistant Food Safety Officer Shahryar Khan, along with his team, conducted an operation at Mangla Entry Point and seized about 200 liters of substandard, poor, and unhealthy raw milk and 25 kilograms of khoya and destroyed them on the spot.

The estimated value of the seized milk and khoya was estimated at Rs 70,000. A fine was also imposed on the accused involved in the operation.

According to the report, this milk was being brought illegally from Pakistan to the Azad Kashmir district of Mirpur despite the ban. The Food Authority team destroyed all the substandard items present on the spot and made it clear that no compromise will be made with the health of the people.

District Food Controller Mirpur Syed Adnan Ali Naqvi, while talking to the media on the occasion of the operation, said that providing quality and safe food to the citizens is the top priority of the Food Authority. He said that no one will be allowed to supply substandard or illegal food items to the citizens.

He said that the Food Authority is active day and night so that only quality and healthy food reaches the people. He also appealed to the citizens to immediately report the sale or transportation of substandard items to the relevant authorities so that action can be taken against them.

The people of Mirpur appreciated this action of the Food Authority and expressed the hope that such steps will continue in the future so that the trade of substandard and unhealthy items can be eliminated.
