Five police officer, DC Haveli transferred in Azad Kashmir

MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government on Thursday announced a reshuffle in the police and civil administration, transferring several senior police officers and making new appointments in key positions.

According to a notification issued by the Services and General Administration Department, five police officers have been transferred to different posts across the state.

As per details, Amir Shahzad Nawabi has been transferred from SP Haveli and posted as SP Anti-Corruption Circle Mirpur.

Similarly, Mujtaba Salahuddin Agha has been appointed as AIG Crimes Muzaffarabad, Muhammad Bashir has been transferred and posted as SP Haveli, and DSP Crime Muzaffarabad Ehsanul Haq has been given additional charge as SP NJHP on a current charge basis.

Zaheer Ahmed has been promoted on a current charge basis and appointed as Chief Security Officer at the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, the notification added.

In addition, the government also changed the deputy commissioner of Haveli, the native district of Prime Minister AJK Faisal Mumtaz Rathore.

According to the notification, the current deputy commissioner, Umar Tariq, has been transferred and posted as Director (State) at the Mirpur Development Authority (MDA).

While Tariq Mahmood, BS-18, currently Collector Affairs Mangla Dam, has been changed and posted against the post of Deputy Commissioner District Haveli (Kahtua).

Member of Service Tribunal appointed

In a separate notification, the government appointed two new members of the Service Tribunal of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) for three years.

“The President, in consultation with the Chief Justice of AJK and the Chief Justice of the High Court and on the advice of the Prime Minister, has been pleased to appoint the [following] persons as members of the Service Tribunal for a period of three years,” the notification issued by the Law and Justice Department.

The appointed members include Azad Khan, Advocate from Hajera Poonch, and Muhammad Sujahaat Ali Khan, Advocate from Haveli Kahuta.

“This notification shall take effect from the date of joining of the Members,” it added.
