RAWALPINDI (Kashmir English): At least five terrorists belonging to Indian-sponsored Fitna-Al-Khawarij were killed in two separate engagements in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province on May 7-8, the ISPR said.
In a statement, the military’s media wing said that on the reported presence of Khawarij, an intelligence-based operation was conducted by the security forces in Tank district.
“During the conduct of the operation, security forces effectively engaged the Khawarij location, and after an intense exchange of fire, four Fitna-Al-Khawarij terrorists were sent to hell,” the ISPR statement added.
Separately, another intelligence-based operation was conducted by the security forces in Dera Ismail Khan. In the ensuing fire exchange, one terrorist was effectively neutralised.
“Weapons and ammunition have also been recovered from the killed Indian sponsored khwarij, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area,” it added.
Sanitization operation is being conducted to eliminate any other Kharji found in the area, the ISPR said.
“A relentless Counter Terrorism campaign under vision “Azm e Istehkam” (as approved by Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan) by Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country.”
