LAHORE (Kashmir English): The Punjab government has declared special holidays of 5 days in Lahore from February 4 to February 8.

As per the announcement made by the provincial government, the holidays will start from February 4 with Shab-e-Barat. While February 5 will be a national holiday on the occasion of Kashmir Day.
After that, the Basant holidays will start from February 6 to 8. Schools, colleges, and government offices will remain closed during the holidays.
So that the citizens can celebrate the Basant festival and spend time with their families.
The authorities have highlighted the importance of safety measures, especially related to kite flying, during the Basant festival.
As in the past, there have been concerns about the crowd and accidents on this occasion.
As per the announcement made by the city administration, the reason for the long holidays is to pay respect to the cultural heritage of Lahore, along with providing recreational activities to the citizens.
