ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir has stated that the armed forces are fully committed to eradicating terrorism and ensuring lasting peace and stability across the country.
According to the Pakistan Army’s media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir paid a significant visit to Corps Headquarters Peshawar.
During the visit, he received a comprehensive briefing on the overall security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which highlighted ongoing counter-terrorism operations and border management matters in the province.
The Field Marshal was also apprised of border management measures and the operational readiness of various formations deployed across the province. According to the ISPR, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir commended the high morale, preparedness, and professional competence of the officers and troops, praising their steadfastness in safeguarding the country and the nation.
The Field Marshal directed all formations to remain fully vigilant at all times and maintain the highest level of operational readiness. He reiterated the resolve that the armed forces, backed by the nation’s unwavering support, are determined to defeat terrorism, and that establishing lasting peace in the country remains their top priority.
During the visit, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir visited the Martyrs’ Monument, laid a floral wreath, and paid a glowing tribute to the martyrs. On this occasion, he stated that the supreme sacrifices of the martyrs who laid down their lives for the defense of the homeland would never be forgotten.
It is worth noting that upon his arrival in Peshawar, the Corps Commander Peshawar welcomed the Chief of Defence Forces, Syed Asim Munir.
