FC Balochistan conducts rescue operations in flood-hit areas

QUETTA (Kashmir English): Timely rescue and relief operations are underway in several areas of Balochistan after heavy rains triggered flood-like conditions in Chaman, Qila Abdullah, Gulistan, Loralai, Sibi, Dobandi and Duki.

According to details, Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan North, in coordination with the civil administration, has launched extensive rescue efforts in the affected areas to assist public.

Traffic control centres have been activated across rain-affected regions to facilitate smooth movement and ensure public safety. FC personnel are actively engaged in shifting citizens and passengers to safer locations, while also providing essential food supplies and medical assistance to those impacted by the floods.

Residents of the affected areas expressed satisfaction over the timely response of FC Balochistan (North) and the civil administration. Affected citizens said they were grateful for the prompt and effective relief operations carried out during this difficult time.

Heavy rain forecast for Balochistan, flood risk warning

Earlier, in Balochistan, cloudy weather were expected in most districts, and there was good chance of rain in Kech, Panjgur, Awaran, Lasbela, Hub, Gwadar, Khuzdar, Sorab, Kalat, and Noshki.

Heavy rain is expected in Kharan, Mastung, Quetta, Bolan, Ziarat, Harnai, Kachhi, Sibi, Kohlu, and Barkhan. Thunderstorms with heavy rain are also expected in Dera Bugti, Zhob, Musakhel, Sherani, Loralai, Qila Saifullah, Qila Abdullah, and Chaman.

The authorities issued warnings that there is a risk of light to moderate flooding in the mountainous streams due to heavy rains, especially in Khuzdar, Kech, and the northern districts.
