SRINAGAR (Kashmir English): While extending its felicitations to the people and government of Pakistan as they celebrate National Day today, the Jammu and Kashmir National Front (JKNF) has said that rising fascism in contemporary India under the BJP’s rule validates Jinnah’s political insight and his timely choice to advocate for the identity of Muslims in the subcontinent.
In a statement issued here on the eve of Pakistan Day, the JKNF spokesman Muhammad Haseeb Wani underlined the historic significance of the Pakistan Resolution adopted on this day in 1940, which ultimately led to the successful establishment of Pakistan on 14th August 1947.
India under the BJP’s governance
Lauding the Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s vision for a separate homeland for Muslims, he stated that the brutal massacre and oppression of religious minorities, along with the rising fascism in contemporary India under the BJP’s governance validate Jinnah’s political insight and his timely choice to advocate for the identity of Muslims in the subcontinent.
While praying for peace and stability of Pakistan, he asserted that a strong and stable Pakistan is essential for the peaceful resolution of the Kashmir issue.
Wani commended Pakistan’s efforts in promoting the Kashmir cause on both national and international platforms, stating, “The resilient people of Kashmir are indebted to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan for its unwavering moral, political, and diplomatic support to our just struggle.”
He expressed the hope that the present government in Islamabad would make every effort to help Kashmiris secure their internationally- recognized right to self-determination, for which they have made significant sacrifices.
He described the unresolved Kashmir conflict as a threat to regional peace and reiterated that lasting stability in South Asia is intrinsically linked to its resolution in accordance with United Nations Security Council resolutions.
