ISLAMABAD: In another blow to inflation-ridden citizens, the Islamabad administration has increased the fares for Orange line metrobus and other feeder routes and electric bus services by 100%, effective from May 26, 2025.

As per the details, the government has doubled the single journey fares for citizens using public transport, including Green line, Blue line, and Electric Bus service, which runs across the federal capital.

The fare for the Orange Line metro, which runs from Faiz Ahmed Faiz Red MetroBus Station to N-5, increased from Rs 50 to Rs 100.

Similarly, the next part of the Orange Line metro, which runs from N-5 to Islamabad Airport, has also hike from Rs50 to Rs100.

The fare for Green line also doubled from Rs 50, requiring travelers to pay Rs 100 for traveling between PIMS and Bara Kahu.

The Capital Mass Transit Authority has also increased the fare price of the Blue line feeder route service, PIMS to Gulberg Green, to Rs 100. Fare for Electric bus feeder routes has also been increased from Rs 50 to Rs 100.

The mass transit authority official said that the decision to increase fare was made for financial stability and better service.
