FAISALABAD (Kashmir English): In a tragic incident, a massive explosion occurred in a chemical factory in Malikpur, resulting in the loss of 12 lives.
According to details, a boiler exploded in a chemical factory located in the Malikpur area of Faisalabad, causing a horrific explosion and killing 12 people on the spot.
After the explosion, a fire broke out in the factory, and the rescue officials have expressed fear that more people may be buried under the rubble.
Five vehicles of Rescue 1122 immediately reached the spot and, along with extinguishing the fire, the process of evacuating the affected people from the rubble is underway.
According to the Deputy Commissioner, the deceased include children, women, elderly people, and factory employees. According to initial reports, the cause of the explosion is a fire due to leakage in chemical leak.
As soon as the information about the explosion was received, the IG Punjab took notice of the situation and directed the police officers to provide full cooperation in the rescue operations.
He asked all the concerned institutions to cooperate fully with the rescue teams and not to obstruct the traffic police, ambulances, and relief teams from reaching the accident site.
According to the spokesperson of the Punjab Police, under the instructions of the IG Punjab, special teams of the police are also taking full part in the rescue activities and are helping the rescue personnel in extracting the people buried under the rubble.
