MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Pakistan Peoples Party nominated candidate Faisal Mumtaz Rathore has resigned from the post of Minister for Local Government and Rural Development just hours before the no-confidence motion against AJK PM Anwarul Haq.
In his resignation letter, Faisal Mumtaz Rathore said that while representing the Pakistan Peoples Party, he got the opportunity to work as a government minister, but he could not play his role effectively due to his own interests and the resolution of the problems of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
He added that now that a no-confidence motion is being presented against the Pakistan Peoples Party, he announces his resignation from his post.
It should be noted that the no-confidence motion resolution also has the signature of the nominee for Prime Minister, Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, which is being seen as a major development in the political scenario. Possible changes are expected in the Azad Jammu and Kashmir cabinet after this decision.
According to political observers, Faisal Mumtaz Rathore’s resignation reflects the ongoing political tension in the region and internal differences within the party.
He has saved the party and the government from the expected difficulties by resigning prematurely, giving importance to his responsibility.
After this development, the name of a new candidate for the post of Minister of Local Government and Rural Development in the government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir will now be considered.
This political situation will become clearer in the next few days as the implementation of the no-confidence motion is also expected soon.
