PESHAWAR (Kashmir English): The authorities have imposed an emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after President Asif Ali Zardari approved the summary sent by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.
President Asif Ali Zardari has signed the summary for the imposition of a state of emergency and Governor’s Rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to sources, the President signed the summary under Articles 232 and 234 of the Constitution.
Governor’s Rule and the state of emergency will formally come into effect in the province following the issuance of an official notification by the Presidency; the presidential order will be immediately enforceable, and the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will assume responsibilities as the province’s administrator.
