ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Electricity consumers are set to witness an increase in their bills, as the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) announced the approval of two tariff adjustments.
First of all, the authority approved an increase of Rs. 2.06 per unit in the fuel adjustment cost for the month of July 2026. This increase will apply to all consumers, including K-Electric’s customers.
The impact of this adjustment will be reflected in consumers’ electricity bills produced in September 2026, causing an additional burden of Rs. 33 billion.
Secondly, the authority also approved an increase of Rs. 0.52 per unit as a result of the quarterly adjustment for April-June 2026; the decision has been forwarded to the government.
The quarterly adjustment will impact consumers during the period from September to November 2026, thus creating an additional burden of Rs. 12.67 billion on K-Electric customers. Both adjustments will therefore increase the electricity price by Rs. 2.58 altogether.
