PESHAWAR (Kashmir English): All public and private educational institutions in Peshawar district will remain closed on Monday, October 12, 2026, following an order issued by the deputy commissioner.
According to an official notice, the closure applies to all schools, colleges and universities operating within the district.
A similar order has been issued in Mardan district, where all public and private educational institutions will also remain closed on the same day.
Examinations and papers scheduled for October 12 in Mardan have also been cancelled, according to the report.
The closures come amid heightened security concerns in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where an emergency has reportedly been imposed.
The Pakistan Army has also been deployed in the province to assist the authorities in maintaining law and order and protecting citizens amid growing security threats.
