PALLANDRI, AJK (Kashmir English): In a welcome move against the drug mafia endangering public health, Chief Drug Quality Controller Azad Kashmir, Ms. Fauzia Ashraf, led a major raid on an illegally operating medical distribution store in the heart of Pallandri city.
The raid took place at Chinar Medical Distribution Store, located on Baitran Road near Delight Bakers. The premises was sealed on the spot, and one individual present at the scene was taken into custody. Authorities have initiated further legal proceedings and a detailed investigation into the matter.
According to initial findings, the individual running the warehouse was not only unqualified in the pharmaceutical field but was, in fact, a professional driver.
No valid licence
He possessed no valid licence for operating a medical distribution business, and the licence he presented was found to be suspicious and possibly forged.
Moreover, no credible documentation could be provided linking the stored medicines to legitimate pharmaceutical companies or registered distributors.
Ms. Fauzia Ashraf stated, “The illegal storage and distribution of medicines is equivalent to playing with human lives. Such actions cannot be tolerated under any circumstances. Strict legal action will be taken to ensure that those involved are brought to justice.”
The raid has been widely welcomed by members of the public and social organizations, who have expressed relief and satisfaction.
Citizens are now demanding a transparent and impartial investigation to uncover who was backing such a large-scale illegal operation in central part of the city.
There are also widespread calls for indiscriminate action against all elements involved in the illicit trade of fake or unauthorized medicines.
