LAHORE (Kashmir English): Social activist and psychologist Dr. Nabiha Ali Khan has approached a family court seeking divorce from her husband, Haris Khokhar.
According to court documents, Dr. Nabiha Ali filed the divorce petition through her counsel, Chaudhry Mudassar Advocate.
She alleged in the petition that her husband verbally abused her and also physically mistreated her during the marriage. She also stated that he had acted in such a manner that she couldn’t go on living with him in marriage.
The petitioner does not want the marriage to continue and wants the divorce decree granted.
The family court has received the petition and will proceed with the case under the relevant legal process. The allegations made in the petition have not yet been adjudicated by the court.
Earlier, Dr. Nabiha Ali Khan shared her story on a Ramadan show. She made serious accusations against her husband. She said that their marriage should never have happened.
Haris Khokhar became her husband, but he was not a suitable match for her because their marriage should never have happened. She established the first two months of their marriage as a period dedicated to mental abuse.
Dr. Nabiha explained that her bedroom door required permission from her husband before she could close it, while he prevented her from enjoying a peaceful dining time with him. She underwent a series of public, disgraceful accusations that targeted her.
