BAGH (Kashmir English): In light of the current tensions between Pakistan and India, the district administration Bagh has issued an important message to the public, urging vigilance and cooperation to counter any threats in the region. The administration highlighted the need for extra caution in areas adjacent to the Line of Control (LoC), where the risk of enemy actions remains high.
According to the district adminitsration Bagh, residents should remain alert to possible threats based on past enemy tactics. These include the movement and installation of IEDs, the use of deserted villages and seasonal settlements (Dhoks) to smuggle narcotics under the cover of livestock crossing the LoC, and the dropping of toy bombs.
In addition, there is concern over fake telephone calls aimed at spreading rumours and misleading people into traps set by the Indian media. The public has also been warned about the targeting of foreigners and the possibility of terrorist activities.
For the safety of the region, the district administration Bagh has announced several immediate measures. All Village Defence Committees are being activated through the civil administration to strengthen local security.
Police patrolling and searches are also being intensified in the areas which are close to the LoC, the citizens are encouraged to remain active and report any suspicious activity to the authorities without delay.
Strict checking has also started on all bridges to prevent any illegal movement. People are also advised to immediately inform the nearest police station if they find any suspicious packages.
Furthermore, night patrolling and hotel inspections have been increased near the LoC to closely monitor the usual activities.
The district administration Bagh has ordered rigorous checks on known smugglers and individuals involved in unauthorised border crossings. To combat misinformation, social media platforms will be monitored closely to detect and counter fake news and enemy propaganda.
Emphasising the importance of collective responsibility, the district management Bagh has appealed to all citizens to play their part responsibly. Their cooperation is vital in exposing any hostile activities and ensuring the security and stability of the area.
The district administration Bagh, in collaboration with the Deputy Commissioner Bagh, Municipal Corporation Bagh, District Police Bagh, and PID Poonch Division, reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the people and maintaining peace, standing firmly with Pakistan and the Pakistan Army in the face of enemy threats.
