DIG, Commissioner visit Hajira, hold consultations with public to resolve issues

RAWALAKOT (Kashmir English): Commissioner Poonch Division Masood-ur-Rehman and Deputy Inspector General Police Region Sardar Zaheer Ahmed visited Sub-Division Hajira and discussed in detail the issues facing the area and their solutions.

They met with local government representatives and officials of the Bar Association. It was agreed in the meeting that they will work together to resolve public issues.

Commissioner Poonch Division Masood-ur-Rehman said that tolerating differences of opinion is a sign of a civilized society.

“The sacrifices and services of our ancestors cannot be forgotten. Institutions are striving to fulfill their responsibilities. Our army and police are serving the country and the nation by sacrificing their lives.”

He said that the process of public consultation will continue so that policy making and decisions are in line with public aspirations.

“We will visit Hijara frequently and find solutions to the problems being faced by locals,” he said and added the young generation will have to be brought to the correct use of social media.

Speaking on the occasion, DIG Police Region Sardar Zaheer Ahmed said that there are some forces in the region that are enemies of peace.

The residents here should go beyond their ideologies and affiliations and promote peace, he urged. “Peace is the first priority of all of us. Every possible effort is being made to restore trust in the people and institutions and the cooperation of the people in this regard is very important”.

Deputy Commissioner Poonch Sardar Umar Farooq, Senior Superintendent of Police Poonch Muhammad Riaz Mughal, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Rawalakot Usman Mumtaz Butt, Assistant Commissioner Hijara Waleed Anwar, and Deputy Superintendent of Police Ms. Jabeen Kausar were also present on the occasion.

President Bar Association Hijara Sardar Sabir Advocate, Sardar Ijaz Advocate, Sardar Anwar Advocate and other lawyers informed the visiting dignitaries about the issues and thanked the administration for its cooperation.

In a meeting with public representatives, Chairman Municipal Committee Hajira Zahid Sarwar, members of District Council Sardar Hafeez, Sardar Nizam, and local government representatives agreed to resolve public issues together in their respective discussions.
