ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): In a special session, the Director General of Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR) briefed the students of Quaid-e-Azam University about the ongoing social media propaganda and ground realities.
DG ISPR General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry talked comprehensively about the internal situation of the country, the matters of defense, and the professional role of the Pakistan Army.
He also informed the students about the difference between social media propaganda and factual information.
While speaking on the occasion, the Vice Chancellor of Quaid-e-Azam University stated that the statement made by the DG ISPR regarding India got proved right before the world, where the Pak Armed Forces outperformed Indian technology as well.
Students and teachers termed the session highly productive, saying it had cleared many of their misconceptions.
Students added that they consider themselves Pakistanis foremost, and the Pakistan Army comes from among them. They also thanked the ISPR DG for giving well-reasoned answers to their questions regarding misinformation.
Earlier, DG ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry had a special session with students and teachers of various educational institutions about current affairs and military matters.
The session, in which students and faculty members from the Convent of Jesus and Mary, Beaconhouse, and Roots School Systems participated, provided an opportunity for open discussion on Pakistan’s operational military matters and internal security situations.
While addressing a meeting with the students, the principal of Convent of Jesus and Mary School appreciated the sacrifices of the armed forces of Pakistan. Students and teachers alike discussed various aspects, while many of them showed their pride in being given an opportunity to interact directly with the military leadership.
The students were proud of the armed forces, stating that they were ready to give their lives, if need be, for the safety of the nation.
The DG of ISPR, while expressing the importance of being duly informed on current affairs, warned against propaganda and misinforming trends on social media. He urged the students to critically evaluate the news they encounter, particularly about harmful and deceptive content.
Teachers reflected on the session, drawing instances of the resolve and courage required by Pakistan’s military. They realized the urgency of standing against strategic arrogance by adversaries and lauded the efforts of Pakistan’s armed forces to defend the nation.
At the end of the session, the students grasped the important responsibility the military serves to protect the nation against acts of terrorism and to keep the nation safe.
