Reports of major military operation in KP’s merged districts are false, sources say
PESHAWAR (Kashmir English): Reports circulating on social media about preparations for a large-scale operation in certain areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s merged districts following the possible imposition of an emergency have been declared false and baseless.
According to sources, certain elements are spreading misleading information to create fear and unrest among the local population.
They clarified that intelligence-based operations (IBOs) are conducted regularly in different areas in accordance with ground assessments and prevailing security threats.
Sources said these operations are part of routine security measures and should not be confused with reports of a new, large-scale military operation.
They rejected claims that preparations were underway to launch a fresh major operation in the merged districts, describing such reports as fabricated and intended to create unnecessary anxiety among residents.
