LAHORE (Kashmir English): Coke Studio has officially announced the launch of its new music platform ‘Nu.WAV’ to nurture the modern wave of Pakistani music and culture.
The project, which will start in September, will release 6 new songs in collaboration with renowned and emerging singers, aiming to provide a free environment for modern-day creators.
Headed by award-winning filmmaker Kamal Khan, the platform will represent home studios and bedroom music culture rather than the traditional style.
The first edition of ‘Nu.WAV’ includes emerging and established names like Asim Azhar, Hassan Rahim, Shay Gul, Young Student, Manu, Aryan SDQ, Amusic, Ezz Chughtai, Sabat Bateen and Zoha Wasim.
Under this project, 6 songs like ‘Mahya’, ‘Dil’, ‘Rangeen’, ‘Qasm’, ‘Shabnam’ and ‘Ae Dewan-e-Dil’ will be released, whose music has been composed by producers like Abdullah Kasambi, Ali Soomro, Jokhe, Rawalio, Talal Qureshi and Umair.
According to Kamal Khan, this platform aims to give complete freedom to artists to work in their own style.
To provide an opportunity to new creators, the ‘Nu.WAV Portal’ was established, where thousands of singers, dancers and other artists from across the country submitted their writings and art.
Through this process, the talented artists shortlisted were not only made a part of this project but also a great ‘creative pool’ was created for the future.
