ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir on Friday commended the role of the media during the recent Pakistan-India tension.
In an informal conversation with the journalists at the Youm-e-Tashakur ceremony, the army chief said that our media played a responsible role, adding, “We hide nothing and told the whole truth“.
“Our media gave a befitting response to the Indian media, which they would remember,” said the army chief.
He stated that we are proud of the way our media responded, and the role of our media was responsible. “The entire nation united and fought the enemy,” he added.
While talking to journalists, the top general also praised the journalists, the Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif, and the Ministry of Information for their outstanding coordination and performance during recent national developments.
The journalists said that the DG ISPR and his team cooperated with them and informed them about the real situation in a timely manner.
On the occasion, a journalist said that every word of Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif was filled with patriotism, the DG ISPR responded that he used to do it in a manner that belonged to the Army Chief.
