LAHORE (Kashmir English): The Government of Punjab has launched the Chief Minister Punjab E-Bike Scheme 2026, under which eligible students will be provided electric bikes through interest-free financing, government subsidies and easy monthly installments.
Under the scheme, the government will distribute 100,000 electric bikes among students enrolled in eligible government and private educational institutions across the province.
Eligible students will be provided with an electric bike equipped with a 72-volt and 30 ampere-hour battery. The bike will be equipped with a 1,000-watt motor, while its maximum speed is said to be around 50 to 55 kilometers per hour.
Eligibility criteria
According to the eligibility criteria, applicants must be at least 16 years old and possess a valid driving licence or learner permit, along with a Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC), where applicable.
The government further said that parents or legal guardians can become guarantors for the scheme. The mobile number mentioned in the application must also be registered in the name of the guarantor.
