DUBAI (Kashmir English): The Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) has announced that fasting spectators would get complimentary special Iftar boxes during the remaining matches of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in Dubai.

The initiative has been taken to ensure that fans observing the holy month of Ramadan could enjoy the event without any disruption.

The UAE government’s initiative aligns with the spirit of Ramadan, ensuring that fans could enjoy the tournament without disruption.

The distribution will take place across all non-hospitality enclosures of the Stadium just before Iftar time.

The start of the holy month is likely to coincide with the Group A fixture between New Zealand and India on Sunday, March 2.

This will be the first match of the tournament to be played during Ramadan, a period of fasting for Muslims worldwide.

The ECB’s decision reflects its commitment to inclusivity and cultural respect, enhancing the match-day experience for all those in the stadium.

Cricket fans and families can enjoy an enriching blend of sports and tradition, as the initiative fosters a sense of togetherness and celebration, according to the officials.

NZ and India already in Champions Trophy semis

New Zealand and India have already qualified from Group A for the final four. Sunday’s group-stage game will determine which of the sides finishes as the winner of Group A.

India on Monday qualified for the semifinals after New Zealand beat Bangladesh by five wickets in Rawalpindi.

The Kiwis also sealed a spot in the last-four from Group A with the win. The winner of Sunday’s match will play the team which finishes second in Group B in the semifinal.
