RIYADH (Kashmir English): Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir met with Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Defence Prince Khalid bin Salman, during which they agreed to cooperate in the field of regional peace and counter-terrorism.
According to the ISPR, during the official visit to Saudi Arabia, the meeting discussed in detail matters of mutual interest. This included the regional security situation, defense and military cooperation, strategic partnership, and changing geopolitical challenges.
The meeting proved to be an opportunity to once again strengthen the historical, deep, and brotherly relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
Meanwhile, under a royal decree issued by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir was awarded the King Abdulaziz Medal (Highest Class), the highest national award of Saudi Arabia.
The award was given in recognition of his distinguished military services and contribution to the promotion of defense cooperation, strategic coordination, and institutional linkages between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
The award also reflects his contributions to regional peace and stability, especially in the areas of counter-terrorism and security. The Saudi leadership appreciated the Field Marshal’s professional skills and strategic vision and commended his commitment to strengthening the long-standing and brotherly relations between the two countries.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Saudi leadership for the award, calling it a strong symbol of Pakistan-Saudi relations and reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to the security, stability, and prosperity of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
