RIYADH (Kashmir English): In light of the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Royal Defence Minister Khalid bin Salman awarded Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Asim Munir, the King Abdulaziz Medal (Excellent Class).
Medal in recognition of outstanding leadership
This honour was bestowed in recognition of Field Marshal Asim Munir’s outstanding leadership and distinguished services, through which he played a significant role in further strengthening mutual cooperation, defence partnership, and long-standing fraternal relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
This honour reflects the deep, historical, and strategic relations between the two countries and expresses the commitment that Saudi Arabia and Pakistan will continue close cooperation for common interests, regional stability, security, and mutual prosperity in future, according to official sources.
During his visit to the Kingdom, Field Marshal Asim Munir reviewed historical ties and strategic defence cooperation with Saudi officials. The discussions also covered regional peace and international security.
