Cadet College Pallandri marks founders’ day today

PALLANDRI (Kashmir English): Cadet College Pallandri marked its Founders’ Day today, September 15, with great enthusiasm and reverence, the college said in a statement.

Cadet College Pallandri is situated in beautiful natural surroundings in Pallandri, the administrative town of Sudhanoti district in Azad Kashmir. The college is about 100 km from Islamabad and about 150 km from Muzaffarabad.

On the day, the college also held a memorial ceremony, paying tribute to Major Rab Nawaz Shaheed, a former cadet who embraced martyrdom on July 16.

The 34-year-old Rab Nawaz, a resident of Muzaffarabad, was martyred while leading troops in a fierce exchange of fire with the terrorists in Balochistan.

As per details, the program began with Quran recitation in the college mosque for the departed soul of Major Rab Nawaz Shaheed.

A special assembly was held in the college lawn, where Principal Brigadier (R) Wajid Qayyum Paracha laid a wreath at the martyr’s memorial. Prayers were offered for the forgiveness of Shaheed Major, elevation of ranks, and the security and progress of Pakistan.

Cadet College Pallandri history

The Cadet College Pallandri’s foundation stone was laid on January 22, 1990, by the then Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir, Sardar Sikandar Hayat.

On 9 July 1998, the Board of Governors of the College decided to commission the College with effect from September 15, 1998.

All the preparations, which included procurement of equipment, furniture, selection of cadets, teaching staff, and administrative staff, were completed in about 8 weeks.

The College was inaugurated on 15 September 1998 by the then Prime Minister of AJK, and the College commenced its academic session on September 15, 1998.
