ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Field Marshal and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Syed Asim Munir has emerged as a key strategic leader for Pakistan in the rapidly changing global political landscape, according to a report by the British newspaper Financial Times.

The report states that shifting global politics have created new and complex challenges for middle powers, where effective multilateral diplomacy has become essential.

Financial Times described Field Marshal Asim Munir as one of the most successful “multi-aligners” among middle powers, highlighting his expertise in multilateral foreign policy.

The report noted that Pakistan has actively engaged simultaneously with major global and regional powers, including Washington, Beijing, Riyadh, and Tehran, creating new diplomatic opportunities for the country.

The newspaper further stated that Field Marshal Asim Munir’s timely diplomatic gestures and soft approach towards former US President Donald Trump proved effective in advancing Pakistan’s strategic interests.

This successful diplomatic positioning, the report added, has caused disappointment for India, which struggled to adapt to the changing global environment and Trump’s political style.

According to the Financial Times, Pakistan’s improved diplomatic standing reflects effective leadership and strategic foresight, while India’s middle-power strategy failed to adjust to evolving global realities, resulting in a notable diplomatic setback.
