NEW YORK (Kashmir English): Brazil qualified for the round of 32 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup with a 3-0 win over Scotland, while star footballer Neymar made his first appearance in the tournament after recovering from injury.

In the match played at Hard Rock Stadium, Brazil played an aggressive game from the start, and Vinicius Junior gave his team the lead with a brilliant goal in the seventh minute.

Vinicius scored another goal in the 22nd minute, but after a video review, he was declared offside, and the goal was disallowed. Despite this, the Brazilian winger did not give up and scored another goal in the first half’s extra time to make the score 2-0.

Brazil’s pressure continued in the second half, and Matheus Konya scored in the 60th minute to make the lead 3-0. Konya had performed well in the previous match as well and maintained his excellent form in this match as well.

A key moment in the match came in the 76th minute when Brazil head coach Carlo Ancelotti brought on Neymar for Matheus Konya. The 34-year-old Neymar, who had missed the first two matches of the 2026 World Cup after suffering a calf injury in May, made his long-awaited return to the national team in this match.

Brazil held on to their lead until the end of the match and secured a 3-0 win to advance to the knockout stages. Vinicius Junior’s brilliant performance and Neymar’s return further fuelled the excitement among Brazilian fans.
